Control Q is an email assistant operated by Control Q ("we," "us"). It connects to email and calendar accounts you authorize, uses artificial intelligence to read, organize, and summarize your mail, and prepares draft replies and suggested actions for your review. Control Q is currently in an invite-only beta.
You need an invitation to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
Control Q's core rule: the AI never sends, deletes, or moves your mail on its own. Drafts and suggested actions take effect only when you explicitly approve them. Because you give the final approval, you are responsible for what you send — always review drafts before approving. AI suggestions can be wrong.
Each member's mail, drafts, and settings live in a separate, encrypted compartment. Our administrative tools show membership information only (name, email, sign-up date, usage totals) — they provide no way to read any member's mail, including for us. We access your email only through the permissions you grant your providers (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo), and you can revoke those at any time in your provider's security settings.
To provide the service, portions of your email content are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to classify messages and generate drafts. Per that provider's API terms, this data is not used to train AI models. We do not sell your data or your mail content to anyone.
The service is provided "as is," without warranties. It is a beta: features will change, interruptions will happen, and despite encrypted storage you should not treat Control Q as the only copy of anything (your mail always remains at your provider). We may suspend or modify the service as we develop it.
Do not use Control Q to send spam or unlawful content, do not attempt to access other members' data or probe the service's security, and do not resell access. We may suspend accounts that do.
The beta is free. If we introduce paid subscriptions, we will give you clear notice and pricing before anything is charged; you will never be charged silently.
You can stop at any time: disconnect your accounts and ask us to remove your account, and your compartment — mail data, drafts, settings — is deleted from our systems. We may close accounts that violate these terms.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including lost profits or lost data), and our total liability is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the past 12 months. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts may not apply to you.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which we are established, with disputes handled in that state's courts. (The specific state and venue will be finalized before public launch.)
